“Purple Virtue” Debuts

Friday evening, I attended the premier of Purple Virtue during the 2011 Dusty Festival at the SVA Theatre.   It was a night I had been waiting for since I was cast as Ms. Harty not too long ago.  Director, writer and editor, Gamela E. Sierra, beautifully, tragically and realistically captured the abuse of innocence and brought it to life with hope walking throughout its entirety.  She has used her creativity to continue an awareness so we as a society no longer turn a blind eye to what so many are prisoners to.  Thank you Gamela.

"Purple Virtue" Classroom Scene

Lights, Camera…Action!

So far, this month has been a real blessing with booking a role in Roan Bibby’s short, Mule, as Aunt Deb who’s nephew struggles with his identity, alongside a commercial for EZ-Tax Return under the direction of Mr. Ernie Schultz, and finishing up a successful emotional role under the direction of Gamela Sierra.  Here’s a snap of the cast and crew at the end of filming the classroom scene in “Purple Virtue” :

Oh, San Francisco… …Ms. Harty awaits.

I just got back from a fabulous vacation with some wonderful friends (a first for me in California) and I am so rejuvenated and ready to go!

Making our way down from Chinatown through the Financial District of San Francisco,  I came across a US Bank and saw this:

Pretty Nifty 😉

Even though I knew this ad would be posted wherever there was a US Bank, it still blew my mind to see it running all the way across the country!  Very cool!  They even used a variation of the shot.

Since my return, I’ve had some pretty great news and just booked the role of Ms. Harty in “Purple Virtue“, a School of Visual Arts Thesis casted by Wayne Chang and directed by Gamela Sierra.  I am very excited to tackle this role that requires some deep emotional preparation.  Here goes!  Filming to begin in March!

February has been good to me, booking a Manpower Staffing Global Print Ad and a Raymour & Flanigan commercial (back-to-back)  –I felt like the glamorous Vanna White!

I even got a few ideas brewing from my stay in SF.  I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised…
